Research has shown that an estimated 8 million unnecessary back surgeries are performed a year. The unfortunate thing for many patients is that they would often benefit from spinal decompression therapy.

Spinal Decompression Treats Back Pain in Nashua NH

Non-surgical spinal decompression therapy offers a non-invasive alternative to surgery for back pain. Conditions like sciatica, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, facet joint syndrome and degenerative disc disease can be treated using non-surgical spinal decompression. If you have lasting neck or back pain, you may be a candidate for non-surgical spinal decompression. Here at Main Street Wellness, we have treated many conditions like back or neck pain, sciatica, leg weakness, tingling down the leg and feet, bulging or herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, and injured or diseased spinal nerve roots.

This FDA approved treatment uses mechanical traction to separate the vertebrae using a pumping action relieving pressure off the disc and nerves. The patient will lay either face up or face down on the table and an upper and lower harness will be fitted to the patient. The computer settings are specialized for each patient creating a controlled negative force to the spine gently separating the vertebrae reducing pressure off the discs and nerves. The pumping action creates a vacuum that can draw back in bulging disc material relieving pain, restoring function and improving mobility to the patient. The session can last between 20-30 minutes. Some people may experience some mild soreness and discomfort after a session.

We may use a combination of other therapies like Extracorporeal ShockWave therapy, Class IV Laser, Electrical Muscle Stimulation and Rapid Release therapy to alleviate discomfort and maximize results.

How does it work? Patients will have an initial exam, and diagnostic images will be taken at the office. Recent images like X-rays and MRI's images and reports can be sent to the office before the initial consultation to be reviewed during the first visit. If the Doctor finds you are a candidate, the patient will have a trail decompression session. A care plan will be created by the doctor for your specific diagnosis.

On the second visit the doctor will discuss their recommendation of care with the patient. Some care plans can range from 12 to 36 sessions depending on the level of injury. Finances and frequency will be reviewed with the patient. Different financing options are offered at our office.
