5 Common Pains that Chiropractic Care Can Relieve

Chiropractic Care Relieves Multiple Pains

To those who’ve never experienced working with a chiropractor, the popular belief is that chiropractic care is only for back pains. While countless people worldwide have experienced pain relief in their backs, this is far from the only use of chiropractic medicine. At Main Street Wellness, we treat all our patients in the Nashua, Hollis, Brookline and Pepperell area as a whole body, not just a collection of aches and pains. Our chiropractors, Dr. Jerrilyn Sullivan and Dr. Taryn Terry, are experienced with treating a surprising number of ailments. Don’t shy away from making an appointment by contacting us at (603) 882-5742 if your pain isn’t in your lower back. We can help you with almost every acute or chronic pain you may experience.

Types of Pain Chiropractic Can Treat

Sciatica

When the sciatic nerve is pinched between two spinal discs, the resulting pain can affect walking, standing, and other necessary everyday movements. Spinal manipulation can release the nerve from the discs and relieve the pain almost immediately.

Headaches

A cervicogenic headache, which spreads from affected parts of the neck, can often be mistaken for migraine. They usually settle in the back of the head or behind the eyes. Manipulation of the cervical spine can relieve pressure on the neck nerves, eliminating the tendency for headaches.

Sore Tailbone

Coccydynia, or sore tailbone, is a relatively common complaint among athletes, especially bicycle riders. Falling down on your bottom or hours spent bouncing on a bicycle seat can make the bundle of nerves at the base of your spine sore. Spinal manipulation can relieve this pain.

Whiplash

Whiplash, which is most commonly seen directly after auto accidents, is caused by the neck being bent quickly forward before “whipping” toward the back. The resulting acute flexing of the neck muscles can cause severe neck sprain or muscle strain. Gentle manipulation can allow the cervical discs to align into place once more, giving relief from the almost constant pain.

Herniated Disc

When the cushion between two discs begins to bulge outward, this can press on nerves and create excruciating pain. Chiropractic care can relieve the pain and encourage the cushion to return to its normal place.

Chiropractic care can treat a host of unrelated pains. What problems are you having that we can help you with?
